Halsall lightens up!

Halsall employees are committed to lightening their load on the environment by reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by a total of 75 tonnes! This is equivalent to taking 300 idling cars off the road each year or the emissions created by driving 47 times across Canada.

Halsall's core focus in 2005 is sustainability, and our employees are showing their commitment by doing their part. We have partnered with the federal government's One Tonne Challenge program and have instituted an employee incentive and education program to support reductions.

Throughout the year employees will be given various challenges to reduce emissions both at home and at Halsall, including replacing light bulbs, alternative commuting (carpooling) and implementing internal office efficiency strategies.

Internally, Halsall is committed to continually integrating sustainability into our core businesses plans. Some of our actions include a corporate Autoshare membership, committing to using 100% post-consumer paper and fair trade coffee, incorporating paperless fax and knowledge sharing systems, and providing incentives for bicycle commuting.

In our project work, we support our clients in achieving environmentally responsible buildings.
